Gazprom Neft affiliate confirms oil spill on Yamal
MOSCOW, May 21 (PRIME) -- Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz, an affiliate of Russian oil producer Gazprom Neft, has detected depressurization of a pipeline at the Kraineye deposit on the Yamal Peninsula and an oil-containing fluid spill and is cleaning it, a spokesperson for the affiliate told PRIME on Friday.
"There is no threat to water resources and the forest fund. The company is investigating the reasons of the accident. The land plot has been separated, the cleaning works are underway," the person said.
A representative of the emergency services told PRIME earlier on Friday that oil products spilled on a territory of about 2,000 square meters in the Purovsky district of Yamal after a pipeline broke.
